Based on JMR’s successful Fortra storage line, these IDE systems bring performance and scalability at an affordable price to IT professionals in a 3U footprint. Fortra IDE storage systems are available in Ultra 160 SCSI or 2GB Fibre Channel configurations. The new Fortra IDE line, with advanced 64-bit architecture distributes and processes data at raging speeds, with sustained performance from 135 MB/sec. (SCSI) to 200 MB/sec. (2GB FC). “Fortra IDE storage systems promise users the optimal high-performance RAID solution, with capacities ranging from 960 GB to 1.44 TB for a wide range of applications. With this architecture, data is distributed and processed at an unprecedented speed through CPU, memory, and drives with a burst rate up to 533MB/second. The dual independent PCI bus design efficiently eliminates bandwidth bottlenecks for IO traffic, allowing overall system performance to reach up to 135MB/second (sustained reads) with the Ultra160 SCSI model, for example, and up to 200MB/sec. (sustained reads) with the 2GB Fibre Channel version. The RAID array in all models (Ultra 160 SCSI or 2GB Fibre Channel) can be configured to levels 0, 1 (0+1), 3, 5 and 10. Each array allows one drive failure without impact on the existing data, and drive rebuild is transparent to the host and system. Environmental information is accessible via the RAIDGuide Manager or VT-100 compatible terminal emulation.
